Contact Lenses:
Advances in contact lens design and materials have made them a clear, comfortable option for most people requiring vision correction. Dr. Mirkin has extensive training and experience in fitting the latest contact lenses including new Multifocal lenses, One day Lenses, disposable astigmatic lenses, and the new Acuvue and Ciba Moist disposable lenses. We have a large selection of trial lenses to fit most patients on the first visit. Other lenses that we fit include rigid, gas permeable lenses, soft lenses - daily, 2-week and extended wear, toric lenses (for astigmatism), bifocal lenses, monovision and colored lenses.
Many of the recent contact lens related eye health problems can be traced back to poor lens care, infrequent lens replacement and contact lens cases that are contaminated with old solution. The best way to avoid contact lens problems is to wash your hands before doing anything with your contacts, replace your contact lenses when you are supposed to, not wear anyone else's lenses or share your contacts with anyone and washing out and replacing your contact lens case on a regular basis.
