Emergency Contact Information

If you have what you believe to be a serious eye infection or injury, the best place to go for emergency treatment 24 hours a day, 365 days per year is the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary located in New York City (Manhattan) at 310 East 14th Street at the corner of 2nd Avenue. Patients with serious eye infections or injuries should be taken there at once.
(212) 605-3719

If there is a penetrating eye injury or foreign object sticking out of the eye, tape a shield over the eye so as not to put pressure on it and go to the above hospital.  In a pinch, a paper cup with the top cut off can be used as a shield, if a nail or other object is sticking out of the eye.  Do NOT pull the object out of the eye as you may make the injury much worse!

Dr Mirkin can be reached by cell at 516-698-8477.
